Did I just say that? I, who a few months back, wanted the word evangelical erased from my bio. Remember, not the true meaning of evangelical, but how we often appear in the media.
Two of my friends, Martha and Judy, frequently forward articles from the Washington Post, New York Times, Wall Street Journal and other sources. I”m grateful to them. Helps me stay in school.
Awoke this morning to massive encouragement from the February 8th Washington Post article by Sarah Pulliam Bailey with these headlines: Conservative Evangelicals Join Letter Denouncing Trump’s Order on Refugees. In one photo Ann Voskamp, best selling author, held a simple sign: We Welcome Refugees. Another woman’s sign read: Jesus Was A Refugee.
A group of Evangelicals took out a full page ad in the Washington Post, administering a massive infusion of hope with these words:
“Followers of Christ face horrific persecution and even genocide in certain parts of the world. While we are eager to welcome persecuted Christians, we also welcome vulnerable muslims and people of other faiths or no faith at all.”
God must love seeing a growing number of His children choosing to live out the Good News, instead of merely making news.
In Acts of Faith Sufjan Stevens wrote in the February 9th issue of the Washington Post, “Stop repeating the heresy of declaring the United States as a Christian Nation. Christ did not come into this world to become a modifier.”
News fit to print.
Good News.

Amen!
Yes – I’m aware of many speaking our for the refugees – so thankful Christians are finally standing up for something really good!
