JUST FOR THE HALIBUT
Just chose my entree for an upcoming event. Debated about short ribs, then chose the halibut. While I'm not always sure how my mind works, it still seems to work. Although, I get why some question where I'm headed with some blogs And I admit, I'm not predisposed towards brevity, no matter the topic. Or my knowledge of it. But that's the fun sometimes, doing something just for the halibut. (Try punning with angel fish.)
So, since I've wandered to the deep end with halibut, I'm reminded of a gift Jud received. Knowing his love for fishing, they gave him a largemouth bass, mounted on wood, to hang on the wall, like an unearned trophy. Only ithe fish was made of rubber so the tail would swish and the mouth open, if you pushed a button on the wooden plaque. When pressed, the fish sang Bobbv McFerrin's, "Don't Worry, Be Happy. And then the lyrics promised that one could live worry-free, because every little thing's gonna be alright.
Right!?!?
Well, Jesus did more than one miracle with fish. He multiplied a couple of fish to feed thousands. And he told Peter to catch a fish, open it's mouth, and fish out the coin needed to pay the temple tax.(Matthew 17: 24-27) As for living worry-free, both miracles remind us that our God is a God who provides. Maybe not what we're hoping for, but the "fish" most needed.
Well, I hope this caught you at a good time. Just when you needed a reminder of God's provision and love for you. We know worry's a waste of more than time. So Google Philippians 4:6-7 and Matthew 6:25-34.

Probably not, if you're living, just for the halibut.

Holy Mackerel, David! I knew I could count on you to take the bait! Thanks for adding to the fun of writing this blog. I had some ones I wanted to use with Cod, but didn't want folks to think I was blaspheming God. So I probably, for the same reason shouldn't use "holy mackerel."
