Something to Ponder

Poco's Present

Poco grabbed the gift from her mother's hands,  eager to pass her present to me. She'd kept close by, while Kristina walked back to the car to retrieve the left behind birthday gift.  I stood still, hooked by Katharan Poco Blossom's smiling brown eyes, blond hair accented by a  headband and long fake braid tossed over one shoulder, packaged in a perpetual  jumping-for-joy personality.

Popo's Poco.

Sparkling Kate bubbled,"This is for you, Momo!"

Her five year old fists unclenched, revealing a small pale blue bag, the kind that often hold mints as wedding favors.  This contained coins. Kate, youngest of the Grands, doubly secured the draw-string bag with one of her clip-on hair ribbons.  Not a penny would be lost.

"It's everything I have.  It's all for you, Momo."

She bounced, while I counted.

Sixty-two cents in a sheer organza bag.

Four days later, I'm left wondering what to do with such a vast treasure?

It is no small matter when one so fresh from heaven gives you everything they have.

Dear Jan:

You are one blessed grandma with such beautiful and generous grandkids as Maggie and Kate. You are all sorely missed at CC when absent. Looking forward to seeing you at the SS picnic on Sunday.
