Updates from Jud and Jan

Thoughts on a Snowy Afternoon

Snow swirling feather dusting rock outcroppings  and the deck  outside my view to the Atlantic. Dusky outside Christmas tree sparkles inside. Couldn’t bear to put it up this year. so Chad did. Now, I can’t  bear to take it down. Merry.

Couldn’t reach the top couldn’t find the usual angel so did the best I could. Practicing that a lot. “Doing the best I can.”

Stretching as high as possible and safe from the stool, usually reserved for the youngest GRANDS, I reached to hang a strange and wondrous ornament as close to the top as possible. It reads,“BIG SHOES TO FILL.’ The  ornament given to us by the trustees at our last Christmas together in 2010.

Well,  BIG  SHOES, headed to heaven so it’s appropriate Jud’s  our angel this year. How’d we do, Jud? You’ve got the vista! Perspective.

Do we ever really know the size until we’re forced to  wear them? to walk while slipping around  a misfit hunting fillers, meaningless struggling for footing? Impossible! winter’s slippery  enough.

Tea kettle’s whistling warnings time for tea with a ginger snap  or two maybe six. gotta fill those shoes with something better still  some ONE. “Bread of heaven, feed me ‘til I want no more.”

Isaiah 41:10New International Version (NIV)

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

ISAIAH 41:10 (CEV)
“ Don’t be afraid. I am with you. Don’t tremble with fear. I am your God. I will make you strong, as I protect you with my arm and give you victories.”

Dearest Mamajan, God IS with you! He gives you strength. He LOVES you and will be right there with you day and night...and in all seasons.
We love you too!

Thank you Jan for continuing to share with us how God's sweet presence is being revealed to you in the midst of grief, change, and new hope. May the God of hope continue to show up in ordinary and extraordinary ways today. Love and many prayers - Peggy
