NOTE: Jan's Baccalaureate Address Will Be Live Streamed, Friday, 5:00 p.m.
Several of you have inquired about hearing Jan’s baccalaureate address at Gordon College this Friday, May 15th, at 5:00 p.m.
If you’re interested in hearing her in real time, her talk “It’s Friday, but Monday’s Coming” will be live streamed on the Gordon College website. Simply go to the homepage at www.gordon.edu and follow the links to commencement weekend activities.
Jan greatly values your prayers for her as she prepares for this event, which, fittingly enough, will take place in the chapel in the worship space named in honor of both Jud and Jan. That’s the same space where Jud’s memorial service took place in January.
As many of you know, Jan will be receiving an honorary doctorate at the commencement exercises on Saturday, May 16th. More information about this may also be found at Gordon’s website.
If you can’t listen to Jan on Friday evening, you will find the text of her remarks posted here in a couple of days.

Congratulations on your doctorate! It was SO much fun spending Mother's Day with you and our girls. Please come to Greensboro for a visit. xoxo
Dear dear Jan...cannot begin to tell you how moved I was by your baccalaureate address. Inspiring, touching, motivating: lives worth following; how shall we mend it my dear; the only Lamb you need is Jesus... You can have all this world/Give me Jesus.
I thank the Lord for you sister.
Xxxooo
Jan, a home run! Loved hearing you again...always delightful and inspiring! <3
You are my 'pick up where we left off' friend as God has woven our lives together in our 'in and out' past connecting times. Often you have been on my mind these days knowing you have been preparing for 'tomorrow'! May you sense God nudge of presence giving you steady strength and a voice for your strong message of hope which I hear ringing loud!
I am praying for you Jan, knowing that the Lord has gifted you with His love and great wisdom. May your words speak truth into the lives of these graduates as you speak from your heart.
Love and prayers
No one is more deserving for an honorary doctorate than Jan.

Thinking of you as always Jan and praying for you especially on Friday! I know your remarks will be a blessing to everyone who hears them. Our niece Chloe Eaton who is graduating & her parents (Phil's brother Tim) will be among them!
So glad to know too that you will be receiving an honorary doctorate from Gordon on Saturday. It is so well deserved!
Many blessings to you for a special weekend!
So glad to know this! It's my/our 50th reunion (1965), but I'll do well to make it to Commencement and the luncheon for my class afterwards on Saturday (sad that Peter will be at home with shifts of sitters). Would so love to hear Jan again...praying for you, Jan! He giveth more grace...just when we need it. Not too soon...not too late. He giveth, and giveth...and giveth again. <3
Praying for you Jan. We're confident God will give you the words to say and the strength to speak them with hope and joy for Sunday is coming! Jud would be/is Proud of you and always was!
We will be praying for you Jan. So sorry not to be there in person but we will look forward to reading your remarks here soon after. Sending love and prayers.
Love and prayers!
Dear Jan,
Hopefully we can listen on Friday evening (at 11:00 PM here!). We know your words will impact many, and even change the life direction of some. You are in our prayers, and will be most especially on Friday! God will use you. We know, because we have experienced it.
Love, David and Joyce
Praying for you. Remembering tonight, over dinner with Gordon and Gail, Jud's address at Denver Seminary this time last year. I think he will be cheering you on Friday night! :-) And so will we! With love!
Cheering you on and surrounding you with prayer. Students will be blessed.
