News from Jan: Get it While It's FRESH! Jud's Caring Bridge Journal Entry Number Four
Fresh is Good
My Carolina brother, Ralph, showed up on Saturday, fresh from bear hunting in Maine. FRESH may not be the best word choice, but it did us good to see him and hear stories of bears that eluded hunters to feast another day on Maine blueberries. Go bears! Hunters left with coolers filled with fresh LOBSTA packed in ice and seaweed.
Jud escaped from the confines of Lunder 1082 and enjoyed two outings to MGH commons on Saturday and Sunday. He inhaled FRESH air and felt the sun’s warmth for the first time in the better part of a month. His nurse, Donna, wheeled him out and felt like she’d given him a gift. She had.
Jud’s rash recedes and blood counts rise, slow and sure. Your prayers lift our spirits. We’re movin’ on up!
And today Jud and I read FRESH encouragement that came in a gift box from Gordon College. Words written by students we’ve never met, prayers and wishes from faculty, staff and President Lindsay. Who says you can’t package love! Some snatches of prayers and reflections: “U R the man!” “Love you like a grandpa.” “You are in our prayers. Go Norway!” “Hang in there, President Carlberg.” “We are praying for you. We thank you for all you have done for Gordon. Your legacy lives on.” “God is Good.” Yes, God is good and we feel blessed to be so prayed for and grateful to feel so loved.
And this day, Donna Loy, who lives about two hours from my brother in North Carolina, reminded us of FRESH gifts from the God we love and trust no matter what. “Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed. For His compassions never fail. They are new (FRESH) every morning, great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22,23
Jud and I thank you so much for bundled prayers and tangible love. Jan

Did not know about your latest challenges until I emailed Jud this morning. We rejoice in all the progress that has been made and are praying for more to continue.
