Updates from Jud and Jan

Christmas in May. A Note From Jan.

Went to Gordon’s Chapel  on Saturday night to attend the spring concert for Men’s, Women’s and  College choirs. That was the public reason. Privately, I wanted to enter the chapel where Jud’s memorial service was held in January. Needed to do that before I go there next week to speak at the Baccalaureate service. Sort of desensitize myself. Felt strange until the Men’s Choir sang, “Who is He in Yonder Stall?” Christmas music in May. I needed that!

Who is He in yonder stall?

When the men sang the answer, I wept tears over Jud and for the truth of which they sang.

Jesus, O wondrous story.

“ ’Tis the Lord! O wondrous story! ’Tis the Lord! The King of Glory! At His feet we humbly fall. Crown Him! Crown Him, Lord of all!”

and from my own heart I remind myself.

Who is He in yonder hall? at a bedside hears us call.  MGH or hospice care Dear Lord Christ, You’re everywhere.

When I wake, or when I sleep Christ in Costco where I weep Chasing ghosts of might-have-been ’til I see that face again.

and then I hear the men’s choir sing on…

“Who is He the people bless For His words of gentleness? Who is He to whom they bring All the sick and sorrowing?”

and I join in on the chorus

“ ‘Tis the Lord! O Wondrous story! Welcomes all into the story Takes the sorrows that we bring Tucks us safe under HIs wing.

Tender truths to sleep on or to begin a new day.

Jan, I agree with Randy. You truly must work these "notes" into a book. It would bless so many!
